WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

Client Testimonials

Ellen helped me train for and successfully complete my first full marathon in 2016! She not only created a training plan, but helped me every step of the way. When I was struggling with not having the energy to make it through some of my longer training runs, she helped me problem solve with adjusting nutrition and hydration, and it helped a ton. I never thought I’d be able to finish a marathon, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been without Ellen’s help and guidance throughout the whole process.

When I first started running I did not know a thing about what it meant. Ellen helped me train and complete my first 5k, 10k, and half marathon in 2015. She built really comprehensive plans that were tailored to my needs. As the races changed, so did the plans. Ellen is a running pro; with so many races under her belt, her knowledge is pretty extensive, whether it is about races, shoes, music, nutrition, watches, terrain, trails, stretching, resting, you name it! Moreover, she has a very motivating spirit that will get you through the finish line!

Ellen is a wonderful coach. I trained with her in 2017. When I started, I was hardly able to run 2-3 mi at a 10min pace. In a few months with Ellen, I was running ten+ miles. Ellen is friendly and humble. She really took the time to understand me and my goals. She worked with me at my pace and tuned my training program continuously based on how I was progressing. One thing I've realized after more than a year of running now is that the challenge really is to train regularly but keep yourself injury free -- Ellen emphasized this from day one. She also gave me many tips on nutrition, hydration, and stretching. Towards the end of the year, I was able to run a half marathon distance, and that's Thanks to Ellen!

Before Ellen: I ran Half @9:45 pace and I failed multiple times trying to break 2hrs. Ellen then came up with a custom training plan for me which included weekly hill and speed workouts. She was so patient to adjust her plan very often due to my busy and unexpected lifestyle of a mom of two young children, I barely made it exactly how she planned. Following her plan, I found myself faster and stronger without injury. She ran with me on the trail and on the track to guild me how to pace myself. She gave advices on nutrition during training and strategy during the race. Finally, I ran my first sub-2hr half marathon on April 15th, 2018. Thanks to Ellen. I wouldn’t make it without her.

I was introduced to Ellen in a local running club where she would lead the group in pre-run warmups and post-run stretching, which helped me to develop my endurance. After couple of months, I approached Ellen with my intention to participate in a half marathon in Fall 2016. Ellen encouraged me to sign up for a race and was kind enough to develop a customized/detailed training plan for me. I was able to successfully finish the race. With her motivation, I showed interest to participate in a full marathon later that year. Ellen, again, built a robust training plan for me which allowed me to complete my race successfully. I have found Ellen to be an excellent coach and mentor. She used to follow-up with me after every single run, asking about effort, cadence, heart rate, splits, and reviewed my performance and made training plan adjustments as needed. Ellen’s post-run stretching techniques helped me to recover from my runner’s knee (PFS). Ellen was always available for any questions or concerns with very quick turnaround time and detailed response. As everyone knows, “An architect makes a stone into a beautiful sculpture, likewise a great coach will make you a great performer.” I was never a runner in my life before and never thought of running; Ellen made me a runner and made me a marathoner within a year. If you would like to participate in any race or would like to consider running as your activity, there is no other better coach than Ellen. Thank you Ellen for your continued support and motivation!!

Ellen is currently training me for a marathon in June, 2018. Even though I've run half and full marathons before, I never had a structured training plan. Ellen designed a plan that includes weekly tempo/track/long distance and easy runs, and with this plan, I've steadily increased my weekly mileage and still hit my pace goals. It took a while to get used to it, but Ellen was very patient and reminded me to not overdo it - in particular on easy days. She responds quickly to questions, gives helpful feedback on my workouts and continuously fine-tunes the plan based on my progression. Ellen is also helping me to improve my run form and gives tips on stretching, recovery and nutrition. Thanks to her, I have no doubts about reaching my personal goals, short-term and long-term.

Coach Ellen is awesome! Without her, I doubt I would have ever run a marathon. I trained with Coach Ellen for the California International Marathon (CIM) in 2015. I had only ever run half marathons and shorter races. Ellen not only gave me a thorough and tailored training plan, but also endless encouragement that I could do it! I especially appreciate that she tailored the training to my needs, allowing for some cross training that I didn’t want to give up, and that she worked with me when I was sick or needed to adjust the plan. She even helped me with my changing nutritional needs during training! She thinks things through and really focuses on the person she’s training. I would definitely train with her again!

I knew Ellen from a run club, and one day I got to run with her and learned that she is a certified coach. Early 2017, my marathon PR was 3:41, only 6 min away from BQ, but I was struggling to get that BQ because I didn’t know anything about proper training. Ellen communicated with me clearly and answered all the questions I had. Thanks to her, I was able to BQ in less than 3 months training with her, achieving a BQ of 3:30! I really enjoyed working with her:)

I've been working with Ellen for a couple years now! She put together a training plan for my first half marathon in 2014 and now we're working on a full marathon plan for late 2018. Her plans are customized for each runner and their goals. They take into account your fitness level as well as your availability. I love that she checks in regularly to ensure my success! Thanks, Ellen!

When I first started working with Ellen in 2017, I was completely intimidated by 10k races. To her, it seemed pretty obvious I could do it, and it seems she knew something at the time that I didn't. She put together plans for two different races that were easy to understand, hard to mess up, and fit easily into my lifestyle. She's also full of helpful advice along the way. And nowadays, running a 10k is no big deal for me!

In 2017, Ellen helped me train for two marathons, SFM and CIM. Ellen not only provided training plans, but every week, she analyzed my Strava feeds and made necessary changes to the plan. After each race, Ellen spent more than an hour over the phone to analyze my run. Ellen is an accomplished runner, recently qualified for Boston Marathon 2019 at the Modesto Marathon. Ellen is very passionate about running and training runners. I highly recommend Ellen for any running related advice.

I trained with Ellen for NYC Marathon, 2017. I had done SF marathon before but was injured and did not have proper training plan. When I spoke with Ellen, she evaluated my running abilities, strength and weaknesses. She designed an elaborate training plan with building base miles, long runs, tempo runs and track workouts. She monitored my runs on Strava and kept track of how my runs were going and modified the plan accordingly. I PR'd in NYC marathon as well. Thanks a lot to Ellen for that. She is the sweetest and most supportive coach I have ever had. I cant recommend her enough. Ellen, You are the best!!

You are about to make a wise decision by choosing your run coach! Look no further, Ellen is the one who knows running from inside out. She doesn't just provide a suitable training plan, but is an honest coach who points out your issues such as breathing, form, diet, just to name a few. Running can be a challenge, worrisome and headache! With Ellen, you can just enjoy injury-free running and let her help you become a better runner.  Ellen coached me during my third marathon training (Fall 2017), during that period of time, I learned so much about running and myself. It is a precious and priceless experience. I highly recommend her.

Coach Ellen has been helping me with my leg injuries. She has shown me several stretches and provided information to help my recovery. She really cares about my physical fitness and makes sure I don't overdo it. I will be needing her guidance and training plans to run a full marathon later on this year once I am 100%. Highly recommend her for running a coach.

Coach Ellen knows everything about running, she’s a supportive, knowledgeable coach that will help you get to your goal in no time. Don’t hesitate to get her as your coach, she knows what she’s doing and she’s very organized and thorough.

Ellen coached me for my most recent half marathon. I'd been running half marathons and full marathons for 2 years, and I wasn't improving and didn't know how I should be organizing my training. Ellen gave me a training plan that brought back this feeling I had when I started running: "I'm constantly getting better". It's a really motivating feeling! Also, she reviewed my runs and gave me really useful advice on pacing, recovery, and managing injuries. Thanks to her help and advice, on my race I hit the target time that Ellen had set for me, which was a personal record time for me by a large margin. And the race felt easier than past ones I had done - this is the effect of well-organized training.

Ellen is a dependable coach whose advice in training I take seriously. I have no prior knowledge of following a training plan or running with a time goal in mind. I had previously completed 5K & 10K races and wanted to successfully complete both half & full marathons. I appreciate that she chooses a realistic running goal for me and is able to identify my strengths and weaknesses and creates a training plan that is suited for my running goals. I ran and completed the California Int'l Marathon in Dec 2018 and that experience makes me want to train and attend similar races while observing her training methods. I finished within my time goal and that would be hard for me to complete on my own. I really recommend Ellen as a coach.

I recently got back into running and consistently found myself plagued by chronic pain because I kept overexerting myself somehow. I also didn't have any experience training for longer distances and how to structure a schedule. Moreover, while I diligently educated myself on other runners' experiences and suggestions online, I also missed the elements of having an empathetic and trusted advisor for comments/questions about recovering, eating, and managing slumps. Ellen has helped me check *all* of those boxes, not only in running my first half, but also in preparing me for long-term fitness, injury prevention, and smart running.

Jestin M

I want to send huge thank you to coach Ellen! On a short note and with not much time left for training she gave me training plan for my first half marathon. I had only 4 weeks to train and her plan was spot on. She is very supportive, pushes you just right, and very knowledgeable in her craft. I followed her plan, and run my first half pretty comfortably. It feels great when someone help you to stay injury free and to gain confidence in yourself. Ellen, thank you for being my guide, for encouraging me, and for making me better runner. I am extremely thankful!
